Before you start

  • The printer is plugged in and its power light is on.
  • The printer and the tablet are on the same store network.
  • You are signed in to Back Office as a manager.
1

Connect the printer to the network

Run the network cable from the printer to your store router, or hold the printer's Feed button for five seconds to print its network sheet. Note the IP address on that sheet — you will type it in step 3.

2

Open Printers in Back Office

Go to Settings → Hardware → Printers, then choose Add printer at the top right of the list.

3

Enter the printer's details

Give it a name your staff will recognise — Front counter, not TM-m30III — then type the IP address from step 1 and leave the port at 9100.

4

Say what it prints

Tick Customer receipts. Leave kitchen tickets off unless this printer sits in the kitchen — those belong to a kitchen station, not the POS.

One printer can do both, but a busy kitchen will hold up receipts at the counter. Two printers is the calmer setup.

5

Choose Test print. A short receipt with your store name comes out within a few seconds. If nothing prints, check the paper roll first, then the network sheet from step 1.

If it prints nonsense rather than nothing

The command language doesn't match the printer. Open the printer in Settings → Printer and check ESC/POS against StarPRNT — it has to match the emulation set on the printer itself.
