Restaurants in Quebec must record their sales through a system certified by Revenu Québec and give every customer a compliant receipt. Foodteria handles the recording and transmission side once WEB-SRM is set up on your POS.
You may also see this called MEV-WEB, or SEV-WEB in French. It's the same obligation.
What you still have to do
- Give every customer a receipt, for every sale, whether or not they ask for it. See Receipt requirements.
- Record refunds as refunds. Don't correct a completed sale by adjusting a later one. See How to issue a refund.
- Use the system for all sales. Sales taken outside Foodteria aren't recorded.
Setting it up
WEB-SRM is configured inside the POS guided setup, and you'll need your Revenu Québec registration details before you start — see Setting up WEB-SRM on your POS.
Not a Quebec restaurant?
There's a different, shorter path through the POS guided setup.
Where the authority is
Revenu Québec sets these obligations. This page explains how Foodteria helps you meet them; it isn't tax or legal advice. For your specific situation, consult Revenu Québec or your accountant.
