Some items only belong on some channels — a dish that doesn't travel, a catering tray you only sell online, a bar-only special. You can hide a product from the channels where it doesn't fit and keep it on the rest. The POS always shows it.
This is set from the Kiosk & Online menu, not from the product's own page.
Steps
- In Back Office, open Menus → Foodteria Kiosk & Online Order Menu.
- Open a page, find the product in its category, open its more-actions menu (⋯) and choose Edit.
- Scroll to Visibility by sales channel. There is a switch for each channel:
- Kiosk — the self-order kiosk
- Table Order Screen — the ordering tablets at your tables
- Online order — both online channels at once:
- Pickup & Delivery — your online store
- QR Order — ordering from the QR code on a table
- Turn off the ones where the product shouldn't appear. Everything starts on.
- Choose Apply, then Save in the top bar.
The product card now shows a small chip for each channel it's hidden on: ✕ Kiosk, ✕ TOS, ✕ Online or ✕ QR. After two, the rest fold into a +1 or +2 chip. Point at it to see which.
The kiosk follows this once its app is up to date. The Kiosk row may still be marked Coming soon, but the switch works: an up-to-date kiosk drops the product within a few seconds. A kiosk on an older app keeps showing it until the app is updated.
What it changes
- Customers on that channel don't see the product and can't order it, even from an old link.
- Table Order Screen, Pickup & Delivery and QR Order change right away. The kiosk changes within a few seconds.
- If every product in a category is hidden on one of those three, the category disappears there too. Its header shows the same chip, so you can see why.
- Online order is a shortcut. Turning it off hides both online channels, and turning it on shows both again. It never changes Table Order Screen.
- The POS and your delivery platforms are not affected. To take a product off everywhere, use its Enabled toggle instead.
Choice groups and options
You can hide a whole choice group, or a single option, the same way.
- Open the product's Edit sheet from the Kiosk & Online menu, as above.
- In its Choice Groups or Options table, open the row's ⋯ menu and choose Edit visibility.
- Set the switches, choose Apply, then Save in the top bar.
- Hiding a group hides all of its choices on that channel. A single choice can't be hidden per channel. Its Enabled toggle takes it off everywhere.
- The product stays orderable. If the hidden group is required, customers on that channel aren't asked, and the price drops by whatever the group would have added. To take the product off, hide the product.
- Groups and options are shared. Hiding one applies to every product that uses it.
On a phone
Open Menus → Foodteria Kiosk & Online Order Menu, tap a page, and scroll to Visibility by sales channel. Every product on the page is listed under its category, with its chips. Tap the arrow on a product to see its choice groups and options, and tap the eye button to open the switches. On a phone the button reads Save, and the change takes effect straight away — there's no second step.
If it doesn't work
- The product still shows online — check you chose Save in the top bar after Apply. Apply on its own only queues the change. Then refresh the storefront.
- It still shows on the kiosk — close and reopen the kiosk app. If it's still there, the kiosk's app needs updating. Contact support.
- A whole category vanished — every product in it is hidden on that channel. Turn one back on if that wasn't the intention.
- A product shows up without some of its extras — one of its choice groups or options is hidden on that channel. Look for the chips on the rows of its Edit sheet.
- You can't find the switches — open the product from the Kiosk & Online menu. The product's own page, the form for a new product and the POS Menu don't have them.
